DaysofPal — The Hamas Movement stated that the Israeli occupation is continuing violations in the Gaza Strip, which is a continuation of the Israeli genocidal war at a different pace.
In a statement released Wednesday, Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem said the escalation of Israeli violations, including ongoing strikes, tightening of the blockade, and restrictions on reconstruction, demonstrates a deliberate effort to derail the ceasefire process and undermine mediation efforts.
Qassem stated that the continued killing of civilians, along with the siege conditions imposed on Gaza, reflects a sustained pattern of violence despite the ceasefire agreement.
He called on mediators and guarantor parties to exert real pressure on the Israeli occupation to halt the repeated violations and to lift the blockade to allow progress in implementing the truce.
The remarks come amid reports of renewed violence on the ground. Local sources said that four Palestinians were killed on Tuesday in a drone strike targeting a group of civilians near Al-Sawarha cemetery, south of the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza. The victims were transported to Al-Awda Hospital.
The incident is part of the ongoing Israeli breaches of the ceasefire, which took effect on October 11 last year.
Since then, at least 687 people have reportedly been killed and 1,849 others injured, according to local data.
Broader figures cited by Palestinian sources indicate that since the outbreak of hostilities on October 7, 2023, the death toll in Gaza has risen to over 72,000, with more than 171,000 injured.
The situation remains fragile as diplomatic efforts continue to sustain the ceasefire, amid mutual accusations and ongoing tensions on the ground.
