Palestinian Leadership Mourns Death of Elderly Palestinian Prisoner in Israeli Occupation Jails

Days of Palestine -

The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas mourned Saturday 2 July 2022 the death of Palestinian prisoner Saadyia Matar, a 65-year-old from Idna town in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron.

“Matar died due to the atrocious assault by Israeli occupation forces during her arrest several months ago and the medical negligence and inhumane conditions that she had been subjected to in “Damon” prison since her detention,” said Zaher Jabarin, Head of Hamas’ Martyrs, Wounded, and Detainees Affairs Office.

“As we mourn the Palestinian martyr, we hold the Israeli occupation fully responsible for her death and for the increasing crimes against sick Palestinian detainees in its prisons,” Jabarin added.

“Matar’s death will fuel the Palestinian resistance against the Israeli occupation until liberating the Palestinian detainees,” he affirmed.
