DaysofPal— Hamas Movement said that Nikolay Mladenov, the head of what is so-called the Peace Council for Gaza, is aligning with the Israeli narrative and attempting to justify further escalation against the Gaza Strip.
In a press statement issued on Thursday, Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem said that Mladenov’s call for the United Nations Security Council to pressure Hamas by all means to fulfill its obligations represents a continuation of adopting the Israeli perspective.
Qassem added that such statements serve as a pretext for intensifying Israeli aggression against the residents of Gaza and tightening the blockade imposed on the territory.
Qassem further criticized Mladenov’s remarks regarding increasing humanitarian aid, stating that they contradict the reality on the ground.
He emphasized that Israeli occupation continues to restrict the entry of aid and is effectively reshaping a policy of starvation in Gaza.
Qassem reaffirmed the Hamas’s commitment to the ceasefire agreement despite the ongoing Israeli violations and crimes.
He also stated that Hamas is prepared to hand over governance of the Gaza Strip immediately and fully to a national committee tasked with administering the territory.
