DaysofPal – The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, has strongly condemned the large-scale Israeli military assault on Iran early Friday, describing it as a “dangerous escalation” that risks dragging the entire region into a broader and potentially devastating conflict.
Hamas said the operation—which targeted multiple sensitive sites in Tehran and reportedly killed senior military and scientific figures—demonstrates “the extremist Netanyahu government’s reckless determination to ignite regional confrontations in pursuit of its expansionist ambitions.” The movement characterized the attack as a blatant violation of international law and diplomatic norms.
According to Hamas, the Israeli aggression reaffirms that the Zionist project represents “an existential threat to the entire region—not only to Palestine.” The movement further stated that Iran is now “paying the price for its steadfast support of the Palestinian cause and the resistance.”
Hamas expressed full solidarity with Iran and extended condolences for the reported assassination of senior figures, including Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Commander Major General Hossein Salami, Iranian Armed Forces Chief of Staff Major General Mohammad Bagheri, and nuclear scientists Mehdi Tehranchi and Fereydoon Abbasi. Iranian media also reported that senior official Ali Shamkhani was critically injured in the attack.
The operation, reportedly code-named “Rising Lion,” involved dozens of Israeli aircraft and struck multiple high-value targets in Tehran in a coordinated and high-risk assault. The airstrikes mark one of the boldest military moves by Israel in recent years, and have sparked immediate condemnation across the Arab world and beyond.
Hamas urged the Muslim world and all active political forces to adopt a united stance against Israeli aggression. “This attack must be met with a collective response to deter the occupation and end its crimes,” the statement read. “The Israeli occupation remains the central enemy of the Ummah. The confrontation with it is not a local issue—it is a fateful struggle requiring unity and shared resolve.”
The Israeli assault has triggered widespread alarm in diplomatic circles, with many international actors warning of potentially catastrophic consequences. Regional analysts have expressed concern that such an escalation could provoke a chain reaction, deepening instability in an already volatile Middle East.
As calls mount for de-escalation, the political and strategic fallout from the Israeli strike is likely to intensify in the coming days—reshaping both the regional security calculus and the global discourse on Israeli military conduct.
