DaysofPal-The Hamas Movement has strongly condemned the “horrific massacre” committed by Israeli forces on Wednesday evening near al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City, where 15 Palestinian civilians were killed and others injured while they were fleeing the Israeli bombing.
According to local sources, an Israeli airstrike targeted a vehicle carrying a displaced family as they attempted to flee south.
Most of those inside the vehicle were killed, whereas the strike took place at the entrance to al-Shifa Medical Complex, Gaza’s largest hospital.
The attack came less than 24 hours after another Israeli strike on a car carrying a displaced family in western Gaza City, which killed five people and injured several others.
In a statement, Hamas said the al-Shifa incident amounted to a “full-fledged war crime”. It accused the Israeli occupation forces of pursuing a systematic campaign of genocide against Palestinians for nearly two years.
Hamas said the timing of the attack, coming shortly after the release of a United Nations report documenting allegations of genocide, was a “blatant message of defiance and contempt for the international community” and a dangerous disregard for international law.
Hamas urged Arab and Islamic countries, along with the broader international community, to take immediate steps to halt what it called “heinous crimes” and to hold Israeli leaders, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, accountable before the International Criminal Court.
Meanwhile, Israeli bombardment of Gaza City has intensified in recent days, forcing thousands of residents to flee southward.
Military sources have confirmed that two Israeli army divisions are already engaged in operations to seize the city, with plans to deploy a third division in the coming days.
