DaysofPal- Hamas has accused the Israeli judicial system of legitimizing policies that contribute to the starvation of Palestinians and restrict international humanitarian aid, following a recent court decision.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Hamas said that the Israeli Supreme Court’s rejection of a petition against what is known as the “International Organizations Registration Law” represents further evidence of the judiciary’s complicity in enforcing policies of deprivation against the Palestinian population.
According to the group, the implementation of the law comes at a time when humanitarian conditions in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank are “catastrophic.”
Hamas warned that enforcing the legislation would exacerbate the crisis by limiting the operations of international relief agencies tasked with delivering humanitarian assistance.
Hamas argued that the measures constitute a “blatant violation” of international law and human rights principles.
It added that continued restrictions on the work of international organizations are worsening the suffering of Palestinians and hindering the delivery of essential aid to those in need.
The group also referenced a joint statement signed by more than twenty countries and international organizations opposing the law, urging that such positions be translated into concrete actions.
Hamas called on the international community to pressure the Israeli government, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, to halt the implementation of the law.
Furthermore, Hamas stressed the need to allow humanitarian and relief organizations to operate freely, emphasizing that unrestricted access is essential for carrying out recovery programs and addressing the growing humanitarian needs of the Palestinian population.
The statement concluded with a call for immediate international intervention to ensure the continuation of humanitarian efforts and to prevent further deterioration of conditions on the ground.
