DaysofPal- The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has strongly condemned the “false and baseless allegations” by the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) regarding claims that a humanitarian aid truck was looted in Gaza.
In a statement released on Sunday morning, Hamas said the accusations “have no basis in fact” and are part of a broader attempt “to justify the continued restriction of already limited humanitarian aid and to cover up the international community’s failure to end the siege and the starvation of civilians.”
The Movement stressed that Gaza’s police and security forces have “sacrificed over a thousand martyrs and hundreds of wounded” while performing their national duty to secure aid convoys and ensure assistance reaches those in need.
Hamas added that incidents of looting and chaos ended immediately after the withdrawal of Israeli forces, which “proves that the Israeli occupation was the sole party that sponsored those gangs and managed the chaos during its presence.”
The Movement emphasized that no reports or complaints were filed by international or local organizations, or even by aid convoy drivers, regarding any such incident.
It described the CENTCOM narrative as “a fabricated and staged scene meant to justify siege policies and the reduction of humanitarian support.”
Hamas also criticized the U.S. for relying on drone footage to make such claims, stating that “American drones failed to record the daily Israeli crimes that the entire world witnesses.”
Since the start of the ceasefire agreement, Hamas said, the Israeli occupation has committed massacres that killed 254 Palestinians, 91 percent of them civilians, including 105 children, 37 women, and nine elderly people.
Another 595 have been injured, among them 199 children, 136 women, and 32 elderly people.
The Movement accused the Israeli occupation of breaching the truce daily, including by crossing the designated “yellow line” buffer zone by over 35 square kilometers, around 10 percent of Gaza’s area, and by continuing to destroy civilian homes.
Hamas noted that the Israeli occupation has allowed only 9.4 percent of the agreed-upon fuel quantities into Gaza and continues to restrict food imports, particularly basic protein sources such as eggs, chicken, and meat, which have been largely unavailable to civilians for two years.
Currently, an average of only 135 aid trucks enter the enclave daily, while the rest are commercial shipments unaffordable to most residents due to the collapsing economy.
