The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas strongly denounced the newly-approved Israeli plans of building new settlement units in the occupied West Bank on Sunday, June 18, 2023.
In a statement, the movement condemned the “frenzied campaign launched by the Zionist occupation authorities to Judaise our Palestinian land as settler-colonial projects that will not grant the Israeli occupation legitimacy over our land”.
“As part of relentless efforts to enforce this agenda, the occupation authorities have approved the publication of construction tenders for more than 4500 settlement units in various colonial settlements in the occupied West Bank,” the movement read.
Hamas calls on the international community, particularly the United Nations, to take serious, swift action to put an end to these Judaisation projects that will escalate the situation and pose a threat to world peace and security.
The movement also called for criminalizing colonial settlement expansion as it blatantly violates international laws and resolutions.
