Hamas Came Out Victorious from War, Hebrew Media Says
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

DayofPal– Hamas still maintains control on nearly every facet of life in Gaza, from controlling local media to overseeing hospitals and schools, enjoying popularity, Hebrew newspaper Jerusalem Post wrote.

In an article on the Hebrew newspaper, it is said that Hamas has leveraged its influence to frame a narrative of triumph. One feature of this victory embodied in its fighter being able to emerge from the destroyed tunnels and rubble then fire and kill Israeli soldiers.

Hamas is determined to project an image of resilience and dominance, asserting that it never lost control despite enduring fifteen months of relentless conflict, the article uncovered.

In addition, another instance of triamph is what recent footage purportedly captured white pickup trucks cruising the streets, packed with resistance fighters waving confidently to cheering crowds. These parades, a display of strength, feature fighters perched on vehicles, signaling the movement’s continued presence.

The Hamas police force, another extension of its power, is also reappearing as soon as the ceasefire came into effect. Though active throughout the war, their visibility had diminished in certain areas. Now, they are stepping back into the public eye, a sign of the movement’s efforts to reestablish order.

During the war, some international organizations and NGOs expressed frustration over the absence or Israel’s targeting of Hamas police, claiming it contributed to a breakdown in law and order.

Many of these institutions found it more practical to work alongside Hamas and its forces, despite the complexities this relationship entails, including Israel’s deliberate attacks.

Palestinian media outlets also seized on this imagery, framing it as a victory for the Palestinian factions and the entire Gaza population, though the spotlight remains on Hamas, further indicating that Hamas can’t be eradicated, for it is part of the population.

Another image of triamph is when videos showed jubilant civilians celebrating alongside resistance fighters, reinforcing the narrative of defiance and survival. For Hamas, these scenes are not just about reclaiming control—they are about cementing their claim to victory in the eyes of their supporters and the world.

On the first day of ceasefire, Sunday January 19th, Hamas released three Israeli women from Gaza as part of a deal to end more than 15 months of war that has ravaged the Gaza Strip. They are Emily Damari, Romi Gonen, and Doron Steinbracher, who were taken captive by Palestinian fighters during Al-Aqsa Flood Operation on October 7, 2023.

The females were handed over to the International Committee of the Red Cross by Al-Qassam vehicle from a bustling square in Gaza City surrounded by a sea of people including resistance fighters. Israeli media was raged over the scene of Gazans celebrations along with the resistance fighters, saying that such scene is “unacceptable.”
