Hamas Calls US Envoy’s Statements ‘Blatant Bias’ Toward Annexation

DaysofPal – The Hamas Movement said that the remarks made by US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee, expressing his support for “Zionist expansionist fantasies” and control over the region under biblical pretexts, represent “a blatant American bias towards projects of hegemony and annexation” and a flagrant violation of international law and the UN Charter.

In a statement issued Saturday evening, Hamas said Huckabee’s comments represent “blatant American bias toward projects of domination and annexation” and a clear violation of international law and the United Nations Charter. The movement added that the remarks reveal “the core of the colonial mindset upon which the Zionist project was founded” and show disregard for the sovereignty of regional states and the rights of their peoples.

Hamas warned that promoting the occupation of lands stretching “from the Nile to the Euphrates” constitutes a direct threat to Arab and Islamic national security. It said such rhetoric confirms that the Zionist project “does not target Palestine alone but extends to the geography, identity, and stability of the region.”

The movement reaffirmed that the Palestinian people will continue to uphold their national rights, foremost their right to their land, holy sites, and self-determination. It stressed that these statements “will not grant the occupation any legitimacy” and will not alter what it called “the historical and legal facts that affirm the illegitimacy and eventual end of the occupation.”

Hamas called on Arab and Islamic leaders to adopt firm positions that go beyond condemnation, urging them to work toward isolating Israel and confronting its plans. It also appealed to the international community to denounce what it described as extremist rhetoric and to take serious steps to hold Israel accountable.

Huckabee made the remarks in an interview with American media figure Tucker Carlson, excerpts of which were published Friday by the Tucker Carlson Network platform. In the interview, Huckabee said he saw no issue with Israel taking control of the entire Middle East.

His comments align with expansionist positions previously voiced by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. In an interview with Israel’s i24 channel on August 12, 2025, Netanyahu said he felt “deeply connected to the vision of Greater Israel” when asked whether he saw himself as on a mission on behalf of the Jewish people.

According to Israeli claims, this vision includes the occupied Palestinian territories and parts of neighboring Arab states, from the Euphrates to the Nile. Another prominent advocate of this trend is the far-right Finance Minister, Bezalel Smotrich, who has publicly stated, based on religious texts, that “the future of Jerusalem (meaning Israel) is expansion to Damascus” and that Israel “must extend to include Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Syria, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia.”

On the ground, Israel is accelerating the pace of its de facto annexation of the occupied West Bank by transferring powers to civilian authorities, confiscating land, and expanding settlements on an unprecedented scale.
