Hamas calls for popular mobilization to repel Israeli Settlers Incursions of Al Aqsa Mosque

Af.M | DOP -

The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement “Hamas” called Thursday, 15 September 2022 on all Palestinians to mobilize to encounter colonial Israeli settlers’ upcoming breakings into the sacred Al Aqsa mosque and protect it against the Israeli regime’s acts of sacrilege.

“Palestinian residents of the occupied Jerusalem are the spearhead of the battle against the Israeli occupation and the nation’s hope for defending Muslims’ third holiest place,” said Mohammad Hamadeh, spokesman for the Hamas branch in occupied Jerusalem,

The remarks followed another Israeli military-backed desecration of the al-Aqsa Mosque and its courtyards by colonial Israeli settlers.

Local media sources reported that 214 Israeli colonial settlers broke into the courtyards of Al-Aqsa and performed Talmudic provocative rituals in some of its courtyards.

Radical Israeli groups are encouraging the illegal settlers to visit the flashpoint holy site throughout the upcoming ‘Hebrew holidays’ later this month.

As part of a decades-old accord between Jordan and the Israeli occupation, non-Muslims are not allowed to perform any religious rituals inside the confines of Al-Aqsa Mosque, nor are Israeli symbols allowed to be displayed.

However, an uptick in Israeli settlers’ visits to the holy mosque has angered Palestinian Muslims and led to protests, which are usually met with Israeli forces’ brutal attacks on the protesters.

The holy sites including Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem have been facing colonial settler violence routinely.
