DaysofPal — On Monday, Hamas informed mediators, Egypt and Qatar, that it had accepted the most recent ceasefire proposal for the Gaza Strip, signaling a significant breakthrough in a prolonged and devastating conflict.

A New Offer Bridging Deadlock

This initiative, tailored by Egyptian and Qatari mediators, presents a revised version of the truce framework previously rejected by Israel.

At the heart of this proposal is a 60-day ceasefire, paired with a phased exchange of Israeli captives and Palestinian prisoners. Norwegian news sources report that Hamas has accepted it without requesting amendments, raising hopes for a swift resumption of talks.
What’s in the Deal

According to a well-informed source, the agreement includes:

A 1,000-meter Israeli pullback from northern and eastern Gaza (excluding Shuja’iya and Beit Lahiya).

Release of 10 living Israeli captives in return for 140 Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences and another 60 long-term inmates.

Swift delivery of humanitarian aid: fuel, water, electricity, debris removal tools, and support for hospitals and bakeries.

Diplomatic Momentum and Humanitarian Desperation

The news comes amid intense diplomatic activity, including a meeting in Cairo between Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. Their discussion reaffirmed the urgency of a truce.

Across Israel, tens of thousands have joined protests demanding a ceasefire and the return of remaining captives—a striking show of civil pressure.

Meanwhile, on the ground, thousands of Palestinians are fleeing eastern Gaza City amid fears of a full-scale Israeli offensive. The humanitarian crisis has spiraled, with over 62,000 dead and malnutrition-related deaths rising sharply.

As of now, Israel has not responded to the ceasefire approval.
