DaysofPal- The Hebrew newspaper Haaretz has warned of an internal collapse threatening the future of the state of Israeli occupation, stating that the country is undergoing an unprecedented phase that could lead to its complete disintegration.
In an opinion article published on Wednesday, Israeli writer Carolina Landsmann argued that Israel is facing a critical turning point, with its political and institutional stability increasingly at risk.
Landsmann wrote that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has entrenched a governing equation in which “the state is me,” suggesting that his political fate has become directly tied to the fate of state institutions.
She described what she sees as a total fusion between Netanyahu’s personal leadership and the structure of governance.
According to the article, the crisis is no longer a temporary political dispute but has evolved into a state of “systematic disintegration” affecting key institutions.
Landsmann said that Netanyahu has eroded the social fabric, weakened the military, and intimidated the judiciary, leaving the state increasingly unable to stabilize itself.
The column further argued that attempts led by the Israeli president and the Supreme Court to contain the crisis or buy time are no longer effective.
It suggested that Israel was once recognized globally, has effectively ended, leaving behind ruins managed by a centralized authority revolving around Netanyahu.
Landsmann concluded that internal divisions and institutional erosion have reached their peak, in one of the most pessimistic assessments within Israeli circles regarding the country’s future.
