DaysofPal- The Ministry of Health in Gaza announced on Thursday that the total number of Palestinian victims killed since the beginning of the Israeli genocide in Gaza on October 7, 2023, has risen to 72,628, with an additional 172,520 people injured.
According to the ministry’s daily report, hospitals across the Gaza Strip received nine fatalities over the past 24 hours.
This figure includes three newly reported deaths and three bodies recovered from heavily destroyed areas, along with 39 people wounded with varying degrees of injuries.
The ministry also noted a sharp increase in casualties following the collapse of the ceasefire on October 11, reporting 846 deaths and 2,418 injuries during this period alone.
Rescue teams have managed to retrieve 769 bodies from beneath the rubble in recent weeks.
Health officials warned that the actual number of casualties is likely higher, as many victims remain trapped under collapsed buildings or lying in areas inaccessible to emergency responders.
Ambulance and civil defense crews continue to face significant challenges in reaching affected areas due to ongoing airstrikes and the widespread destruction of infrastructure across the enclave.
The continuation of Israeli attacks have further strained Gaza’s already overwhelmed healthcare system, raising concerns among humanitarian organizations about the worsening crisis and the ability to provide adequate medical care to the injured.
