Gaza Genocide Day 454
Days of Pal- reports revealed that Gaza’s population has dropped by six percent—around 160,000 people—amid relentless violence since October 2023. According to the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS), more than 55,000 people have been killed, and 100,000 have fled the besieged enclave in what it describes as a genocide.
The PCBS report, released Tuesday, highlights a grim reality: Gaza’s population has fallen to 2.1 million, with children under the age of 18 making up nearly half—47 percent—of the remaining residents.
“Israel has waged a brutal war of aggression against Gaza, targeting human lives, buildings, and vital infrastructure. Entire families have been erased from civil registers, leaving behind catastrophic human and material losses,” the PCBS stated.
While Israel’s foreign ministry dismissed the PCBS figures as “fabricated,” the data closely aligns with estimates from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). As of July 2024, OCHA reported that approximately 2.1 million Palestinians remained in Gaza.
A report from Gaza’s government media office corroborates the devastation, noting that 11,200 people remain missing. Additionally, 1,413 Palestinian families have been entirely wiped from civil records, while 3,467 families have only a single surviving member.
The six percent decline in Gaza’s population underscores the devastating toll of the ongoing war. With entire neighborhoods destroyed, critical infrastructure decimated, and civilian casualties mounting, Gaza faces a humanitarian catastrophe.
For those who remain, life becomes increasingly perilous as attacks continue to claim lives and shatter families. The need for immediate international action grows more urgent with each passing day.
