DayofPal– In the early hours of Thursday, Israeli forces issued evacuation orders for some of Gaza City’s most densely populated displacement centers, sparking panic among hundreds of thousands of already displaced Palestinians.
The warnings, which come amid intensified bombardment, include threats to bomb Al-Shifa Hospital, the Islamic University, and several overcrowded schools now sheltering desperate families.
Among the targeted schools are Mustafa Hafeth, Al-Furqan, Al-Karmel, and Al-Shati—facilities that had transformed into makeshift sanctuaries for those fleeing earlier waves of airstrikes.
These new evacuation orders, centering on the Al-Rimal neighborhood, have plunged Gaza City into chaos. Families are scattering with no clear destination, sleeping on bare ground in and around shattered buildings, trapped in a cycle of repeated displacement.
The Israeli military’s threat against Al-Shifa Hospital, Gaza’s largest medical facility and a critical lifeline for the wounded, has triggered a rushed relocation of patients to Al-Helou Hospital.
But with infrastructure collapsing and no true safe zones remaining, medical staff warn that the system is nearing total breakdown.
The assault on civilian infrastructure has reached new extremes. Yesterday, a heavy airstrike on Gaza’s European Hospital resulted in dozens of casualties, including injured civilians and displaced families seeking shelter.
The targeting of medical centers, schools, and universities reflects a strategy that critics say is systematically dismantling Gaza’s ability to care for its own people.
In a region already gripped by humanitarian catastrophe, this latest wave of attacks is being called one of the most dangerous escalations since Israel resumed full-scale operations.
