DaysofPal- The Government Media Office has issued a dire warning about the rapidly worsening humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip, where over 2.4 million Palestinians are now at risk of starvation due to the Israeli deliberate and complete blockade.
For 55 consecutive days, no food or humanitarian aid has entered Gaza, leaving its population, more than half of whom are children, on the verge of mass death from famine. What was once a looming threat has now become a grim reality, with reports confirming 52 deaths from starvation and malnutrition, including 50 children.
In a chilling indictment, the government office described the situation as “one of the most horrific forms of slow-motion mass killing,” with more than 60,000 children suffering from severe malnutrition and over a million children enduring daily hunger. These children are wasting away, their bodies frail and their futures stolen by systematic deprivation. Thousands of families have been reduced to scavenging through rubble for scraps to feed their starving children, while others face the unimaginable agony of watching their loved ones succumb to hunger.
Collapse of Infrastructure and Essential Services
The infrastructure in Gaza has collapsed entirely under the weight of relentless Israeli bombardment and a suffocating blockade. Thirty-eight hospitals have been rendered inoperable after being bombed, burned, or deliberately destroyed by Israeli occupation forces.
Over 90% of water desalination plants and sanitation facilities have ceased functioning due to a lack of fuel and systematic targeting, leaving millions without access to clean water. Every single bakery in Gaza has shut down due to the absence of flour and fuel, compounding the food crisis.
Hospitals that remain partially operational are struggling to save lives without electricity, medicine, or basic supplies. Patients, including critically ill children, are dying in hospital beds as medical staff fight an impossible battle against time and resource shortages. The deliberate destruction of essential services is part of what the government office calls a “systematic plan” aimed at eradicating life in Gaza.
A Crime of Genocide Documented in Plain Sight
The Government Media Office condemned the international community’s silence in the face of what it describes as a “crime of genocide.” Audiovisual evidence of the atrocities unfolding in Gaza has been broadcast globally, yet no decisive action has been taken to stop the carnage. The office accused Israeli occupation forces of committing a “full-fledged crime against humanity” and held accountable not only the occupying power but also countries providing political and military support, particularly the United States, Britain, Germany, and France. Their complicity, the statement argues, makes them equally responsible for the ongoing extermination of Palestinians.
Urgent Calls for Action
The government office demanded the immediate establishment of a safe humanitarian corridor to deliver aid and save the lives of over 2.4 million Palestinians before it is too late. It called for the formation of independent international committees to investigate the crimes of starvation and systematic killing perpetrated by Israeli occupation forces in Gaza. Furthermore, it urged the global community to intervene urgently to halt the blockade—a policy of collective punishment imposed on Gaza for 18 years—and to hold those responsible accountable under international law.
Appealing to people of conscience worldwide, the statement concluded with a haunting reminder: “Children in Gaza are dying of hunger in front of the world, while mothers search the rubble for scraps to feed their little ones, and patients die in hospitals without medicine, electricity, water, or fuel. Time is running out, and any delay in responding will be considered clear complicity and actual participation in this crime—an indelible stain on the brow of humanity and history.”
As Gaza teeters on the edge of irreversible catastrophe, the world faces a moral reckoning. Will humanity act in time to prevent the annihilation of an entire population, or will silence and inaction cement this tragedy as one of the darkest chapters in modern history?
