DaysofPal- The humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip continues to escalate amid ongoing Israeli genocide and the closure of border crossings.
Medical sources reported that over 79 bodies of Palestinians killed in the past 24 hours have arrived at Gaza hospitals, including children, women, and civilians who were waiting for aid, and hundreds of others were injured as the Israeli crimes against civilians continue.
The sources added that aid distribution centers have turned into death traps, as repeated Israeli strikes have targeted people gathering there, leading to a sharp increase in civilian casualties, with more killed.
Meanwhile, hospitals are receiving hundreds of cases of severe malnutrition, while the number of patients and wounded exceeds hospital capacity by more than four times.
With resources stretched beyond breaking point, many of the injured and sick are forced to lie on hospital floors in dire and inhumane conditions.
According to the Ministry of Health, no government hospitals are operating in northern Gaza, while Al-Shifa Medical Complex, the territory’s largest hospital, is functioning at only 20 percent capacity after being largely destroyed in Israeli bombardment.
Health officials have also warned that nearly 650,000 people are at risk of death as they enter the fifth stage of malnutrition.
The numbers are expected to rise as long as border crossings remain closed and Israel continues to block the entry of food, medicine, and humanitarian aid.
