DaysofPal – Gaza’s Ministry of Health announced on Saturday that 29 Palestinian bodies were transferred to hospitals across the Gaza Strip over the past 48 hours, including 25 victims whose remains were recovered from the rubble, in addition to eight wounded individuals.
In a statement, the ministry said the total number of Palestinians killed since the start of Israel’s war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, has risen to 71,266, while the number of injured has reached 171,219.
The ministry warned that an unknown number of victims remain trapped under collapsed buildings or lying in streets and inaccessible areas, as ambulance and civil defense crews continue to face severe obstacles preventing them from reaching many locations.
It further reported that since the ceasefire came into effect on October 11, Israeli violations have resulted in the killing of at least 414 Palestinians and the injury of 1,142 others. During this period, emergency teams were able to recover the bodies of 679 people previously reported missing under the rubble.
The ministry said that 292 more deaths were added to the total number of fatalities after their information was confirmed and authorized by the official committee in charge of verifying the victims’ identities. These cases were documented between December 19 and December 26, 2025.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel, backed by the United States and European allies, has carried out what Palestinian authorities describe as a campaign of genocide in the Gaza Strip, involving widespread killing, starvation, destruction, forced displacement, and mass arrests.
These actions have continued despite international appeals and binding orders issued by the International Court of Justice calling for an end to the assault.
The ongoing war has left more than 242,000 Palestinians killed or wounded, the majority of them women and children, with over 11,000 people still missing. Hundreds of thousands have been displaced, while famine has claimed the lives of many civilians, particularly children. Entire cities and neighborhoods across Gaza have been devastated, with much of the enclave’s urban landscape reduced to ruins.
