DaysofPal- Gaza’s Health Ministry reported on Saturday that 612 people have been killed and 1,640 others have been injured in the Gaza Strip by Israeli violations since a ceasefire came into force on Oct. 11.
In remarks carried by Safa, the ministry said hospitals recorded one additional death and 10 new injuries during the past 48 hours.
The health authority noted that many victims are still believed to be buried under collapsed buildings or left in inaccessible areas.
Ongoing dangers and restricted entry have prevented ambulance crews and civil defense teams from reaching those locations.
Since the truce began, recovery teams have pulled 726 bodies from the debris, the ministry added.
The overall toll from the genocidal war by the Israeli occupation forces on Oct. 7, 2023, has now climbed to 72,070 fatalities and 171,738 wounded, according to the same source.
Officials warned that these figures are likely to rise as search operations continue and additional remains are discovered in heavily damaged parts of the territory.
