DaysofPal – At least 76 Palestinians have been killed in less than 48 hours as Israeli forces intensified their attacks across the Gaza Strip. Since dawn on Sunday, Israeli air raids and shelling have claimed the lives of 53 Palestinians, followed by the killing of 23 more since early Monday.

The latest attacks, described as massacres against families, mark a continuation of the genocidal campaign waged against Gaza’s civilian population since October 7, 2023.

Local sources reported that in the northern Gaza Strip, the death toll from an Israeli strike on a house in Jabalia rose to 10, including several children. Civil defense teams recovered numerous bodies and wounded survivors from beneath the rubble.

In the southern city of Khan Younis, a medical source confirmed that three Palestinians were killed and others wounded when Israeli shelling targeted a tent sheltering displaced families in the al-Shafi’i refugee camp. Additionally, the bodies of two Palestinians were retrieved from under the rubble of the Kawarea family’s home, which was destroyed by shelling in Jort al-Lot, Khan Younis.

Civil Defense teams also recovered more victims from a house near Khan Younis that was shelled on Sunday evening. Rescue operations remain underway amid reports of several individuals still missing under the rubble.

In a separate massacre, seven Palestinians were killed and others injured when Israeli forces shelled a house belonging to the al-Ghamari family near Hamad Hospital, northwest of Gaza City.

Eyewitnesses reported intense artillery bombardments targeting the neighborhoods of al-Zaytoun, al-Tuffah, and al-Shujaiya, as well as areas around the University College in southern Gaza City. Heavy gunfire was also reported as Israeli military vehicles advanced toward eastern Gaza.

Further south, Israeli artillery targeted the area between Khan Younis and Rafah. In central Gaza, several Palestinians were wounded in a shelling attack on a tent sheltering displaced families near the Abu Qatoush roundabout in Maghazi camp. Five more civilians were injured when artillery struck agricultural land in Abu Sitta Street in the town of Zawaida. Shelling was also reported northwest of al-Bureij camp.

As the violence escalates, Gaza’s humanitarian crisis continues to worsen. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) warned of a growing health catastrophe due to the massive accumulation of waste, which is increasing the risk of disease outbreaks. UNRWA said it is striving to continue waste collection and transportation services in all accessible areas despite the ongoing conflict.

Israel’s bombardment campaign, which targets homes, tents, hospitals, and UN shelters, has persisted for more than a year and a half, inflicting widespread suffering on Gaza’s civilian population. Since March 2, Israeli authorities have also closed Gaza’s crossings to humanitarian aid, food, and medical supplies, leading to an even sharper deterioration in living conditions, according to governmental, human rights, and international reports.
