DaysofPal – The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has warned that the last remaining lifelines for civilians in Gaza City are collapsing, as Israeli airstrikes and military operations intensify.
In just five days, 11 UNRWA shelters—housing around 11,000 displaced people—were struck. Since the breakdown of the March ceasefire, over one million people have been newly displaced, including 200,000 in the past month and 56,000 since Sunday alone.
Despite aid agencies delivering wheat flour, food parcels, and nearly 560,000 meals daily, Israel continues to “systematically block” humanitarian access, OCHA said. The closure of the Zikim crossing and bans on certain food items have further restricted aid deliveries.
“Opportunities to support starving people are being systematically blocked. Every week, new restrictions are imposed,” OCHA stated, warning of a deepening humanitarian collapse.
