DaysofPal – Israeli forces killed at least three Palestinians in the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, Palestinian officials said Tuesday, with settlers simultaneously intensifying assaults on villages in the occupied West Bank.
Gaza’s Ministry of Health confirmed the latest killings, while the Civil Defence agency reported transferring the bodies of 35 unidentified Palestinians to al-Shifa Hospital for identification. Officials said efforts are underway to determine their identities amid mounting casualties and widespread destruction.
Since October 2023, Israel’s war on the enclave has killed at least 69,182 Palestinians and injured 170,694 more, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry. Despite a U.S.-brokered ceasefire that came into effect on October 10, Israeli forces have killed at least 245 Palestinians since then.
Thousands of Palestinians remain missing, believed to be buried under the ruins of bombed homes and buildings. Local reports from central Gaza describe families visiting hospitals and morgues in search of their loved ones, trying to identify them through fragments, personal belongings, or scars.
“Forensic experts are facing severe challenges, including the decomposition of bodies and a shortage of DNA testing equipment,” one local source said. “Mothers continue to return to hospitals hoping to find their children, only to go back each time with broken hearts.”
Ceasefire Violations and Blocked Aid
Despite U.S. claims that the ceasefire remains intact, Gaza’s Government Media Office has recorded at least 282 Israeli violations since October 10, including continued airstrikes, artillery shelling, and direct shootings. Reports say Israel has attacked Gaza on 25 of the past 31 days, leaving only six days without recorded deaths or injuries.
The ceasefire deal stipulated the “immediate and full” entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, but the United Nations children’s agency (UNICEF) accused Israel on Tuesday of blocking essential supplies, including 1.6 million syringes meant for vaccinating children and nearly one million bottles of baby formula.
“Both the syringes and the refrigerators are considered ‘dual-use’ by Israel,” said UNICEF spokesperson Ricardo Pires. “We’re finding it very hard to get them through inspections, yet they are urgently needed.”
UNICEF warned that the blockage is preventing immunization for more than 40,000 children who missed routine vaccines during the war. The syringes have reportedly been waiting for customs clearance since August.
According to the UN’s humanitarian monitoring data, only 3,451 aid trucks reached their intended destinations in Gaza between October 10 and November 9, a fraction of what is needed for the enclave’s two million displaced and malnourished residents.
The ongoing blockade has plunged Gaza into near-total darkness. Over 80 percent of the Strip’s electricity network has been destroyed.
“For the past two years, no electricity has reached the Gaza Strip,” said Mohammed Thabet, an official with Gaza’s electricity company. “The amount of electricity reaching Gaza is zero.”
Families rely on flashlights or small generators, spending nights in pitch-black shelters amid rubble and debris.
Settler Violence Sweeps Across the West Bank
In the occupied West Bank, Israeli settlers launched fresh attacks on Tuesday against the Palestinian villages of Beit Lid and Deir Sharaf, torching vehicles, farmland, and Bedouin tents. At least four Palestinians were injured.
Palestinian official Muayyad Shaaban said the incidents are part of a wider campaign to displace Palestinians from their land, accusing Israeli authorities of granting settlers “protection and immunity.”
Israeli police said four settlers were arrested for “extremist violence,” while Israeli President Isaac Herzog condemned the attacks as “shocking and serious,” noting that settlers even assaulted Israeli soldiers and damaged a military vehicle.
The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission (CRRC) recorded 2,350 settler and army attacks in October alone, including home demolitions, shootings, and the uprooting of olive trees, with most incidents concentrated in Ramallah, Nablus, and Hebron.
Israeli rights group B’Tselem said this week that settlers are attacking Palestinians “daily,” engaging in shooting, beating, torching fields, and invading homes, often under the protection of Israeli soldiers.
Palestinians throughout the occupied territories face constant violence, displacement, and hopelessness as Gaza is subjected to fresh bombardment under the pretense of a shaky ceasefire and settlers step up their attacks in the West Bank.
