DaysofPal- Israeli forces carried out a new wave of military attacks across the Gaza Strip early Saturday, escalating concerns over continued violations of the ceasefire agreement that came into force last month.
Airstrikes were reported in the eastern districts of Khan Younis in southern Gaza, where Israeli warplanes conducted multiple attacks within a short time frame. The strikes were accompanied by sustained artillery fire and heavy gunfire from Israeli armored units positioned near the border areas. Residents reported intense aerial presence over the southern Strip throughout the early morning hours.
In central Gaza, Israeli helicopter gunships targeted areas east of the Bureij refugee camp, firing repeatedly as part of what local observers described as a broader pattern of sustained military pressure. No immediate details were available regarding damage or casualties in the camp, though residents reported panic and displacement as families sought shelter.
Southern Gaza also witnessed renewed attacks on the city of Rafah, where helicopters opened fire multiple times, with the assaults continuing into daylight hours. The strikes heightened already tense conditions in the area, where residents say military activity has rarely subsided since the ceasefire was announced.
Meanwhile, in Gaza City, eastern neighborhoods came under heavy fire from Israeli helicopters, while artillery shells struck the city’s eastern outskirts. The bombardment added to widespread destruction in residential and agricultural zones that have already sustained significant damage over months of fighting.
Local monitoring groups report that since the ceasefire agreement took effect, Israeli military actions have resulted in the deaths of more than four hundred Palestinians and injuries to over one thousand others across the Gaza Strip. The figures include civilians hit during air raids, artillery fire, and live ammunition incidents in multiple regions.
Despite the ceasefire provisions, Israeli forces have continued military operations across Gaza, including aerial bombardments, ground shelling, and small-arms fire. Palestinian officials and human rights organizations have repeatedly warned that the ongoing attacks undermine the ceasefire’s credibility and place civilian lives at continued risk.
Calls for international intervention to enforce the ceasefire and prevent further escalation have grown, as residents across Gaza face ongoing insecurity amid the fragile truce.
