DaysofPal- Idan Alexander, a 21-year-old Israeli-American soldier who was released by Hamas last May as a good gesture, declared his intention to return to the Israeli army and to rejoin the Gaza genocide.
Alexander, who was captured by Hamas fighters in 2023, said he plans to resume his service in Gaza, join the Israeli occupation army amid the escalating Israeli genocide.
Speaking at the so-called (Friends of the Israel Defence Forces) event in the United States, Alexander described returning to the Israeli occupation forces as a continuation of his commitment. “
Next month, I will return to Israel and once again wear my uniform, serving proudly alongside my brothers. My story doesn’t end with survival, it continues with service,” he stated.
He also called serving the Israeli occupation “one of the greatest honors of my life.”
The event he spoke at aimed to raise funds for emergency medical supplies and mental health support for the Israeli soldiers who suffered the consequences of the Israeli crimes against the civilians in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Alexander was freed as part of a gesture by Hamas intended to support ceasefire negotiations and facilitate humanitarian aid.
At the time, Hamas official Khalil al-Hayya expressed readiness to begin intensive talks, including prisoner exchanges, to resolve the conflict.
The release was welcomed by former US President Donald Trump and US officials, who credited him with helping secure Alexander’s freedom.
Since October 2023, Israeli bombardments in Gaza have killed at least 65,208 Palestinians and wounded more than 166,271, according to Gaza health authorities. The attacks have left thousands trapped under rubble, and a famine was declared in the territory in August amid the ongoing siege.
