France Accused of Complicity in Covert Displacement of Gaza’s Skilled Workers

DaysofPal- Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor leveled serious accusations against France, alleging its involvement in a secretive and systematic plan to displace skilled professionals and intellectuals from the Gaza Strip.

According to Euro-Med Chief Rami Abdo, French authorities are directly coordinating with the Israeli occupation forces to orchestrate the evacuation of high-ranking academics, doctors, engineers, historians, and cultural specialists, many of whom hold advanced degrees.

One such operation reportedly occurred on Wednesday, where targeted individuals were gathered inside Gaza at dawn and transported under Israeli military protection to Ramon Airport in the Israeli occupation.

From there, discussions were underway about moving them to Jordan via the King Hussein Bridge. These operations, described as highly clandestine, have raised alarms among local sources within Gaza, who view them as part of a broader strategy to strip the Strip of its intellectual and professional elite.

Warnings of a “Brain Drain” in Gaza

Local leaders and activists have issued warnings against participating in these programs, which they describe as an attempt to deliberately weaken Gaza by removing its most qualified citizens.

The loss of these professionals, who are critical to rebuilding efforts and preserving cultural heritage, could have devastating long-term consequences for the region. Critics argue that this displacement is not merely an isolated effort but part of a calculated plan by the Israeli occupation to alter Gaza’s demographic and social landscape.

Abdo revealed that a special unit within the Israeli administration appears to spearhead the initiative, prioritizing individuals with higher education qualifications. The ultimate goal, he claims, is to later relocate their families, further entrenching the impact of this demographic shift.

Despite repeated attempts by Euro-Med to contact the French consulate in Jerusalem for clarification, no response has been received from either the consulate or the French government.

France’s Silence Raises Concerns

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor has called on France to take responsibility for its alleged role in these operations, labeling them a “blatant violation of international law.”

The rights group criticized Paris for its perceived double standards, pointing out that France has failed to hold accountable dual nationals who served in the Israeli occupation forces during recent conflicts in Gaza. Some of these individuals have been implicated in war crimes, yet remain unpunished.

Abdo urged the French government to issue an official statement clarifying its position and halting any participation in what he describes as forced displacement policies disguised as humanitarian aid.

He warned that France’s silence risks implicating the nation as an implicit partner in these actions, which could irreversibly harm Gaza’s recovery and future development.

A Growing Crisis for Gaza

These allegations come amid growing concerns about the broader implications of such displacement activities. For decades, Gaza has faced severe economic hardship, political instability, and repeated military conflicts.

The systematic removal of its educated elite threatens to exacerbate these challenges, leaving the region even more vulnerable. Critics argue that this campaign mirrors historical strategies employed by occupying powers to dismantle resistance by eroding the intellectual and professional foundations of occupied communities.

As calls mount for accountability and transparency, the international community faces mounting pressure to intervene and protect the people of Gaza from what some fear may become a deliberate campaign of cultural and intellectual erasure. For now, all eyes remain on France and its response to these grave accusations.
