The European Union’s Special Representative for Human Rights Eamonn Gilmour called on Thursday, 8 June 2023 for holding Israel accountable for its violations against the Palestinian people.
He added asserted the need to provide protection for Palestinian civilians, especially children in all circumstances.
He expressed his condolences to the family of the 2-year-old Palestinian child Muhammad al-Tamimi who died last Monday from wounds sustained a few days ago by Israeli occupation forces in the village of Nabi Saleh, north of Ramallah.
Gilmour stressed the need to ensure accountability and bring the perpetrators to justice in the crime of killing Tamimi.
He reaffirmed the European Union’s position on the illegality of Israeli settlements, Palestinian homes demolitions, and forced expulsions in the occupied Palestinian lands.
