A group of European representatives went to the Gaza Strip on Wednesday to inspect the humanitarian conditions in the region, which is currently being blockaded.
On Wednesday morning, 22 ambassadors and representatives from nations of the European Union descended on Gaza, according to Shadi Othman, a communication officer of the European Union office as reported by Anadolu.
Othman said that the visit was to observe the humanitarian conditions in Gaza, as well as to inspect projects that are funded by the European Union.
He stated that the delegation is set to convene with both the Egyptian mission in Gaza and various Palestinian civil society representatives.
Upon arriving at the Beit Hanoun–Erez crossing, a delegation entered Gaza and went to an UNRWA school, as reported by an Anadolu.
The Gaza Strip, a home to close to 2.3 million Palestinians, has endured an Israeli blockade since the year 2007, which has had a detrimental impact on the well–being of the people living in the area.
