DayofPal– Morgan Ortagus, Deputy U.S. Special Envoy to the Middle East, has openly admitted that Washington has granted Israel full backing in its ongoing military campaign in Gaza.
Speaking to Fox News, she confirmed that the U.S. has “unleashed Israel” and supplied it with all necessary weaponry to sustain the war.
Ortagus further stated that American officials remain engaged in relentless diplomatic efforts, utilizing all available influence to negotiate the release of Israeli captives held in Gaza.
Meanwhile, U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff expressed frustration over the stalled ceasefire negotiations.
Commenting on the breakdown of his proposed deal, which Israel rejected even before Hamas had responded, Witkoff remarked, “I thought we had an acceptable deal. I even thought Hamas had approved it. Maybe I was duped.” Despite this, he insisted that Hamas had been given multiple opportunities to accept a truce and disarm.
“They elected not to. This war is the alternative, and it is unfortunate,” he added, defending Israel’s continuation of its Gaza offensive.
In an earlier interview with Tucker Carlson, Witkoff had suggested that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appears to favor prolonged warfare over securing the release of Israeli captives.
He also acknowledged that the Western narrative surrounding Hamas does not fully align with the reality on the ground.
His latest remarks, however, seem to contradict his previous stance, indicating a shift in rhetoric as Israel intensifies its military operations.
The admissions by senior U.S. officials have further underscored Washington’s deep involvement in the war, reinforcing global scrutiny over its role in sustaining Israel’s war efforts.
