DaysofPal– A senior security official within the Gaza resistance announced on Sunday that eight members of Israeli-backed criminal networks have surrendered themselves to the authorities in recent hours, following the announcement of a ten-day repentance window.
According to the official, the individuals turned themselves in voluntarily after direct communication from several families and with the clear support of local clans, which removed social protection from those involved. This collective pressure, he said, played a major role in facilitating their surrender.
The official added that the reconciliation window remains open for the remaining wanted individuals throughout the designated period, urging anyone involved to take advantage of the opportunity to settle their status according to established procedures.
The source also praised the national and responsible stance of Palestinian families and tribal leaders who took the initiative to lift the social cover from collaborators. He described this behavior as a vital pillar in protecting the social fabric and strengthening the internal front, particularly as Israel continues its attempts to undermine stability within the Gaza Strip.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel, backed by the United States and several European governments, has carried out a campaign of mass killing, starvation, destruction, displacement, and detention across the Gaza Strip.
These actions have continued despite international appeals and orders from the International Court of Justice demanding a halt to the violence.
The offensive has resulted in more than 239,000 Palestinians killed or wounded, the majority of them women and children.
Over 11,000 people remain missing, many believed to be under the rubble, while hundreds of thousands have been displaced amid a deepening famine that has claimed the lives of many, mostly children.
Large parts of Gaza’s cities and neighborhoods have been reduced to rubble, with vast swathes of the territory effectively wiped from the map.
