The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned Tuesday, September 27, 2022 the repeated and escalating violations of Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli settlers, with the support and protection of the Israeli occupation police.

The ministry denounced as a gross breach of International Law the continuance of such violations, the imposition of restrictions on Palestinian worshipers’ freedom of movement and the performance of religious rites, and the ongoing attempts to alter Jerusalem’s legal and historical status.

According to the ministry, the prospects for a just and comprehensive resolution of the Palestinian question and the realization of the two-state solution are jeopardized by this dangerous escalation.

The ministry issued a dire warning about the serious consequences of continuing such provocative activities around the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Muslim`s holiest site, as they heighten tension, encourage bloodshed, and create more barriers to efforts to restart the peace process.
