Mohammed Al-Hallaq: Shot While Playing, Silenced by Occupation

DaysofPal- Israeli occupation forces have continued field violations across the Gaza Strip through direct killings, attacks on children, and intensified ground and air fire in several areas. On the 107th day since the ceasefire agreement went into effect, these actions have caused numerous civilian property damages, fatalities, and injuries.

A medical source confirmed the killing of Majdi Nofal on Sunday morning after he was shot by Israeli forces near Block 12, east of Al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza.

Earlier, a local correspondent reported the killing of Mohammed Khaled Abdel Moneim, who was struck by a bullet to the head fired by Israeli forces in the Al-Zarqa area of the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, northeast of Gaza City.

These assaults are nothing more than an additional offense to the mounting list of crimes committed against civilians. In the southern Gaza Strip, a child, Badriya Issam Saqr, was injured by Israeli gunfire near the Austrian neighborhood west of Khan Younis, highlighting the continued targeting of the most vulnerable groups despite the ceasefire agreement remaining in place.

Israeli vehicles opened fire east of Gaza City, while artillery shelling struck the Al-Tuffah neighborhood in the northeast and other eastern areas of the city. The shelling caused panic among residents and led to damage to homes and infrastructure.

In the far south, Israeli artillery bombarded northern areas of Rafah. Heavy gunfire from Israeli vehicles was also reported south of Khan Younis, and Israeli helicopters fired east of the city, reflecting an escalation in aerial activity during recent hours.

Early on Monday morning, Israeli warplanes violated the terms of the ceasefire by carrying out three airstrikes east of Deir al-Balah in central Gaza. Israeli forces also demolished several residential homes east of Gaza City.

Three Palestinians were killed and six more were injured in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip on Sunday. Additionally, an Israeli suicide drone detonated at the communications tower atop the Al-Shawa and Al-Hosari building on Al-Wahda Street, which houses multiple press offices. Medical sources reported that the attack injured four Palestinians, noting that the casualties were among passersby near the building.

Through repeated violations, Israeli occupation forces have killed 501 Palestinians and injured 1,321 more since the ceasefire started.

The ceasefire brought an end to a campaign of genocide that began on October 8, 2023, and continued for two years. The offensive resulted in more than 71,000 Palestinians killed and over 171,000 injured, along with widespread destruction affecting nearly 90 percent of civilian infrastructure. The United Nations has estimated reconstruction costs at approximately $70 billion.
