DaysofPal – Three Palestinians were killed on Sunday, including a fisherman and a teenage boy, while another fisherman was wounded by Israeli fire, amid continued field violations of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
Local sources reported that 15-year-old Alaa al-Din Mohammed Zuhair Asraf was shot and killed by Israeli occupation forces in the Jort al-Lout area, south of Khan Younis, in southern Gaza.
The Union of Fishermen’s Committees in Gaza stated that fisherman Abdul Rahman Abdul Hadi al-Qan was killed, while Yaman Khalil al-Qan was injured after Israeli forces opened fire on fishermen in the Fash Farsh area, south of the Strip.
In a related incident, Fadi Najeeb Salah succumbed to wounds sustained earlier from Israeli gunfire in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, a region that has been repeatedly targeted in recent attacks.
In the early hours of Sunday, Israeli warplanes intensified their assault, launching heavy airstrikes on the cities of Khan Younis and Gaza, alongside intensified artillery shelling by Israeli forces.
Israeli fighter jets carried out an intense bombardment of the eastern areas of Khan Younis at dawn. According to eyewitness accounts, the eastern and southern parts of the city have been subjected to continuous tank fire, with bullets reaching displacement tents near the Austrian Cemetery west of the city, placing displaced civilians at grave risk.
Simultaneously, Israeli tanks shelled eastern Khan Younis with heavy artillery, while Israeli forces conducted demolition operations in the area. In the southern Gaza Strip, Israeli aircraft launched airstrikes on Rafah as part of the ongoing military escalation.
Israeli military vehicles also opened fire east of the al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza. In Gaza City, Israeli aircraft targeted eastern neighborhoods, while Israeli forces renewed gunfire near al-Bureij in the central region.
The escalation follows deadly attacks a day earlier, when three Palestinians, including two young girls, were killed and 17 others injured as Israeli forces struck various areas across the Gaza Strip.
The humanitarian crisis in Gaza has gotten worse due to Israeli occupation forces’ ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement that has been in place since October 10.
