DayofPal—The Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip announced today the recovery and transfer of 77 bodies of martyrs from the Al-Salem family, found beneath the rubble of the Abu Ramadan family home.
Ramadan family was bombed and destroyed during the ongoing Israeli military campaign in the Rimal neighborhood, western Gaza City.
Brigadier General Mahmoud Al-Shoubaki, head of the operation, stated that rescue teams successfully retrieved all the bodies from the collapsed home, including 60 complete bodies and several remains, in addition to 17 others that had been buried around the house during the war.
Al-Shoubaki highlighted that the operation was carried out using limited equipment, including manual tools and simple machinery, and took three continuous days of strenuous work amid severe shortages of resources.
He called for the urgent delivery of specialized heavy equipment to facilitate and accelerate the recovery of thousands of bodies still trapped under rubble across various parts of Gaza.
The Civil Defense also reported that its teams have begun searching for more martyrs in the Yarmouk area of western Gaza, specifically beneath the ruins of a house belonging to the Al-Nabriss family, as part of ongoing efforts to recover and document the victims.
The agency warned that thousands of bodies remain buried under the widespread destruction caused by the Israeli attacks, with limited access to the heavy machinery required for effective rescue and recovery operations.
