Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit warned on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, against the Israeli government’s plans to construct thousands of settlement units in the occupied West Bank.
In a statement on Tuesday, Aboul Gheit stated that “such plans undermine the two-state solution by encroaching on the lands that are meant to be part of the future Palestinian state.”
He urged the US administration to take a firm stance against the Israeli plans in defense of the “two-state solution” promoted by Washington.
Aboul Gheit emphasized that settlements undermine peace and make it impossible to talk about a resolution between Palestinians and Israelis or regional peace in the area, as Palestinian lands are being annexed on a daily basis.
