The Palestinian prisoner Wael Nabil Mahmoud Nairat, from the town of Mithlon, south of occupied Jenin, entered Sunday, August 13, 2023, his 20th year inside the Israeli occupation prisons.
Montaser Sammour, director of the Prisoners’ Club in Jenin, stated that the Palestinian prisoner, Nairat, has been detained since August 13, 2004, and sentenced to 25 years in prison and that he was shot in the head during the time of his detention.
He pointed out that the father of the prisoner, Nairat, died in 2014, and that the Israeli occupation prison administration prevented him from bidding the last farewell.
Israeli occupation authorities currently hold some 4900 Palestinians in prisons, including 160 children and 31 women.
554 prisoners are serving life sentences, including 40 who served more than 25 years, while 23 others were detained before the Oslo Accords.
