Scores of pro-Palestine activists marched Friday, October 21, 2022 in downtown Washington DC demanding an end of the Israeli occupation and in protest of the recent Israeli escalation of violence in the occupied West Bank.
Activists first gathered in front of the Washington Monument in DC and marched through the busy downtown streets of the city waving Palestinian flags and banners and chanting in support of Palestine, including “No more money for Israel’s crimes”.
“It’s very difficult to see your people not able to freely move like we can out here today. We take it so for granted. They are living under an Apartheid regime that is committing war crimes every day,” said one of the protesters.
Another protester said, “Palestinians in Jerusalem and Nablus are calling for a General Strike to protest the sieges and escalations full of tear gas, night raids, and skunk water that is causing a massive civil disobedience in Palestine right now.”
The Friday march was in response to the ongoing deadly Israeli military raids in the occupied West Bank, which since the beginning of the year resulted in the killing of more than 120 Palestinians, the majority of them are civilians.
