A groundbreaking study conducted by a coalition of esteemed academic institutions has concluded that Israel’s actions in Gaza since October 7, 2023, constitute genocide against the Palestinian people.
This comprehensive study, undertaken by multiple renowned academic bodies, scrutinizes Israel’s operations in Gaza within the framework of the Genocide Convention of 1948.
The findings of the study are stark: ‘Israel’ has perpetrated genocidal acts against Palestinians in Gaza, resulting in thousands of deaths and injuries, as well as creating conditions aimed at physical destruction.
The report details the harrowing toll on human life, with over 34,000 Palestinians killed and nearly 78,000 wounded between October 7, 2023, and May 1, 2024.
A significant portion of the casualties includes Gaza’s children, highlighting the profound impact on the most vulnerable segment of the population.
Further, the coalition’s report underscores the extensive damage inflicted on civilian infrastructure, the forced displacement of over 1.7 million civilians, and the worsening hunger and deprivation in Gaza. The study concludes that Israel’s actions exhibit clear genocidal intent, supported by statements from Israeli leaders and the conduct of Israeli military forces.
‘Israel’ is facing charges of genocide at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), and has also laid waste to large swathes of the besieged enclave, devastating everything from housing to medical facilities, educational institutes and civilian infrastructure.
