Days of Palestine – Jenin
A Palestinian worker from the town of Yamoun, west of Jenin, was shot by the Israeli occupation forces, while on his way to his workplace in the occupied interior in the year 1948.
According to local sources, the worker, Khaled Fraihat, was shot in the foot by the Israeli occupation soldiers near the section of the Apartheid Wall near the town of Barta'a, southwest of Jenin, and he was taken to hospital for treatment.
Workers are subjected to harassment and persecution by the Israeli occupation forces while trying to reach their workplaces.
The Apartheid Wall, which the occupation began constructing in 2004, destroyed large areas of agricultural land in the West Bank and confiscated 164,780 dunums.
The wall violates the basic rights of nearly a million Palestinians, forcing thousands of them to obtain special permits from the occupation forces to allow them to continue living and moving between their homes and their lands.
The wall also has profound negative impacts on the educational process. Many students and teachers were denied access to their schools, which confused the educational process in many schools.
