Days of Palestine – Ramallah

Three days ago, he was on his way back from school to his home in Qalandiya camp, north of occupied Jerusalem, before a treacherous Israeli bullet caught him in his right eye.

The 15-year-old child, Bashar Elyan, screamed, “My eyes, oh, my eyes,” and immediately fell to the ground before being transferred to the Palestine Medical Hospital in Ramallah, and from there to Al-Najah Hospital in Nablus, and there were the trauma and tragedy that would haunt Bashar throughout his life. Removing his right eye completely.

The child, Bashar Elyan, said: “As soon as I left the school, I saw the Israeli occupation soldiers fire live and metal bullets, tear gas canisters and sound at the citizens. I tried to take shelter in the school wall, but I felt something entering my eyes. The pain was severe, I lost control, and fell on the ground.”

Bashar adds that he did nothing, and did not pose any danger to the Israeli occupation soldiers, asks: "What have I done to put out the light of my eyes?"

He expresses his fear that the removal of his eye will affect the course of his life; For being still in the primary tenth grade.

His mother calls on international institutions to stand up and hold "Israel" accountable for its heinous actions against her child, Bashar.

She cried and asked: "What did he do to end my son's eye light?" That is the terror that the Israeli occupation is doing without any control or accountability!

She called on the Palestinian Authority and all Palestinian officials to file a case against the Israeli occupation for its continuous crimes against children and the people of Palestine.

This Israeli crime coincides with the world's marking of the International Children's Day, which was approved by the United Nations in 1954, at a time when Palestinian children are subjected to Israeli aggression that does not stop, whether by killing, arrest, or injury and finally ending the light of an eye of the child Bashar Alyan.
