Head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya on Friday evening phoned Turkish president Recep Erdogan and offered his heartfelt condolences for the tragic loss of life from the earthquake that hit Turkey's western coast.
Haneyya conveyed his Movement’s solidarity with Turkey in this ordeal and its deep sympathy with the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery for all the wounded.
The Hamas official also wished every success for the Turkish authorities in their rescue and aid efforts, expressing confidence of Turkey’s ability to overcome such tragedy.
For his part, The Turkish president expressed his thanks to Haneyya for his phone call and sincere feelings, and briefed him on the Turkish government’s efforts to help its citizens in the stricken area.
