DaysofPal- The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza on Friday condemned the repeated targeting of healthcare workers and medical facilities, calling for an immediate end to ongoing Israeli attacks against the territory’s health sector.
The ministry said that on Thursday afternoon, an Israeli quadcopter drone dropped an explosive on Kamal Adwan Hospital, injuring two staff members inside the hospital’s designated “green zone.”
In a press statement, the ministry said the continued and systematic targeting of healthcare facilities and medical personnel places the lives of both healthcare workers and patients at grave risk while further undermining the already strained healthcare system’s ability to provide lifesaving medical services.
The ministry urged the United Nations, international humanitarian organizations, and other relevant bodies to take immediate action to ensure the protection of medical facilities and healthcare workers, calling for an end to the attacks and the ongoing violations against Gaza’s health sector.
According to the latest figures released by Gaza’s Government Media Office, 34 of the Strip’s 38 hospitals have been destroyed by the Israeli military during the genocide. Only four hospitals remain operational, functioning at limited capacity despite sustaining significant damage and facing severe shortages of medicines, medical equipment, and essential supplies.
