23 European Union countries stand with Palestine against Israel’s plan to annex large parts of the occupied West Bank, said Mahmoud Abbas’ close aide Nabil Shaath.
Austria and Czech Republic were the only two European states that have not announced their stance yet.
Shaath said that a consensus should be reached if the EU wanted to impose sanctions on Israel. He urged the two remaining states to join the other 23.
He also said the a consensus must also be reached for the recognition of the Palestinian state, not only to stand with Palestine against annexation.
