DaysofPal- Abu Obeida, the military spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades, praised Hezbollah fighters in Lebanon for the heavy losses they have inflicted on Israeli occupation forces, commending their continued efforts to confront aggression against Lebanon, its people, and its sovereignty.
In a brief statement issued on Friday, Abu Obeida said that Israel is attempting to compensate for its failures on various fronts through the continuation of its military actions and occupation policies. He added that Israel is also seeking to separate the different fronts of the resistance movement.
According to Abu Obeida, these efforts have proven futile, stressing that over more than two and a half years, Israel has achieved nothing but “disappointment and defeat.”
For his part, Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem praised the heroism of the resistance in Lebanon in defending its people and territory against Israeli occupation.
In a press statement, Qassem said that confronting the occupation and resisting its objectives demonstrates that free peoples will never accept the continuation of occupation. He added that stability in the region can only be achieved through the end of occupation on Arab land and the cessation of attacks against Arab peoples.
Meanwhile, the Operations Room of the Islamic Resistance stated on Friday that Israel has failed to abide by any ceasefire agreement since November 27, 2024. The group said this pattern continued through developments on April 16, 2026, and despite the outcomes of the recent Iranian-American understanding, whose first provision called for ending the war on all fronts, including Lebanon.
In a statement, the Operations Room accused Israel of repeatedly violating the ceasefire by targeting civilians, destroying residential buildings and infrastructure, and carrying out ground incursions and attempts to advance into areas it had been unable to reach before the agreement.
On the Israeli side, the Israeli military announced the deaths of four soldiers, including the commander of the 52nd Battalion of the Givati Brigade, during what it described as “difficult and complex” clash with Hezbollah in southern Lebanon overnight.
Hebrew media outlets reported that the council of the Adam settlement, northeast of occupied Jerusalem, announced the death of one of its residents serving in the Israeli military during the fighting. Reports added that the battalion commander killed in the clashes was an armored corps officer holding the rank of lieutenant colonel and commanding the 52nd Battalion within the Givati Brigade.
Israeli media also reported that 17 soldiers were wounded when a military force was targeted near the town of Kfartebnit in southern Lebanon. The attack resulted in the deaths of the four soldiers and injuries to the additional personnel.
