DaysofPal- The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission has reported that Israeli occupation forces and settlers carried out 1,659 attacks against Palestinians, their land, and their property across the occupied West Bank during May 2026.
In a report released on Saturday, the head of the commission, Minister Moayad Shaaban, said that Israeli forces were responsible for 1,108 of the recorded incidents, while Israeli settlers carried out 551 attacks. The highest number of violations was documented in the governorates of Hebron and Ramallah and Al-Bireh, each recording 319 incidents.
Nablus ranked next with 301 attacks, followed by Bethlehem with 212, reflecting what the commission described as an escalating pattern of targeting across several Palestinian governorates.
According to the report, the violations included a wide range of actions, such as physical assaults on residents, the uprooting of trees, the burning of agricultural fields, preventing farmers from accessing their land, property seizures, and the demolition of homes and agricultural structures.
The report added that these measures were accompanied by the closure of large areas of Palestinian land under security-related pretexts. The commission accused Israeli occupation forces of providing protection to settlers and facilitating their expansion into these areas.
Shaaban also noted that settler attacks continued to target Palestinian villages and Bedouin communities. During May, two Palestinians were killed in incidents involving settler gunfire, according to the report.
The report showed that settler attacks were concentrated primarily in Hebron Governorate, where 146 incidents were recorded, followed by Ramallah and Al-Bireh with 132 attacks and Nablus with 126.
With the latest figures included, the total number of settler attacks documented since the beginning of 2026 has reached 2,567, the commission said.
