DaysofPal – The Government Media Office in Gaza said on Friday that Israeli occupation forces continue to impose severe restrictions and reduce the entry of essential supplies into the Gaza Strip, further deepening a policy of suffocation and blockade.
The remarks came in the weekly report issued by the government office on the movement of crossings and commercial access points in Gaza, covering the period from May 15 to May 21, 2026.
According to the report, movement through the Rafah crossing during the past week remained extremely limited. A total of only 403 travel and return cases were recorded, including 249 Palestinians leaving Gaza and 154 returning to the enclave.
The Government Media Office stated that these figures fell far below the 1,400 travel cases that were supposed to be permitted under the announced agreement, noting that Israeli compliance did not exceed 28 percent. The report said this reflected a continued policy of imposing strict restrictions aimed at limiting freedom of movement.
On the commercial and humanitarian level, the report revealed that only 1,287 trucks entered the Gaza Strip during the reporting period, despite commitments that 4,200 trucks would be allowed in. This represented a compliance rate of just 30 percent.
The incoming trucks included 559 designated for the commercial sector, 693 carrying humanitarian aid, and 35 transporting fuel and energy supplies.
Regarding fuel shipments, the report detailed that seven trucks carried commercial cooking gas, while 28 trucks transported diesel fuel allocated for institutions and essential services.
The Government Media Office said the ongoing reduction in the entry of vital goods and fuel shipments was part of a deliberate policy aimed at intensifying the humanitarian crisis and tightening the blockade imposed on Gaza and its population.
