DaysofPal- The Hamas movement on Tuesday called on mediators guaranteeing the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip to take immediate action to stop ongoing Israeli violations and crimes in the enclave.
In a press statement, the movement said continued Israeli airstrikes across Gaza represent a systematic escalation. It pointed in particular to a strike earlier in the day that targeted a police station in the northwest of Gaza City, which resulted in the death of a passing child and injuries to several police officers.
Hamas described the attack as a “bloody signal” of continued violence against Palestinians, arguing that such actions aim to spread chaos and instability while preventing recovery efforts that contradict Israeli plans to displace the population.
The group said mediators and the United Nations bear direct responsibility to pressure the government of Benjamin Netanyahu to halt the offensive and comply with the terms of the ceasefire agreement. It accused Israel of failing to uphold its commitments through continued strikes, blockade measures, and restrictions affecting civilians.
Hamas also called on people around the world to intensify public pressure on Israel and its allies to end the daily violence against Palestinians in both Gaza and the occupied West Bank.
On the same day, Gaza’s Interior Ministry reported that Israeli aircraft struck the Sheikh Radwan police station, confirming the death of a child and injuries among police personnel.
The current ceasefire was reached following two years of an Israeli genocidal campaign that began in October 2023. 72,000 people were killed, over 172,000 were injured, and about 90% of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure was destroyed during that period.
While the ceasefire was intended to bring stability, Israeli Army Radio recently reported that the military has intensified its operations within the Strip over the past few weeks.
