DayofPal—An Israeli strike targeting a vehicle in central Gaza on Thursday killed three people, including two civil defense workers, in another breach of the so-called ceasefire agreement.
The Israeli airstrike hit a car on Salah Al-Din Street, north of Al-Maghazi refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, killing three people.
The three were identified as Hazem Al-Aidi, Ibrahim Mansour, and Maher Al-Tantawi, and injuring others. The latest two were from Al-Bureij Camp.
Ibrahim Mansour was on his way south, carrying a heart full of anticipation, ready to finally meet the wife he had longed for and the son he had never held, born far away in Egypt, in the shadow of a war that kept them apart.
Every mile he crossed was a step closer to a life paused, a family incomplete. At the crossing, they waited, clinging to hope, imagining the moment his arms would wrap around them at last.
While they stood there, the camp gathered not for a reunion, but for a farewell, returning him not to his family, but to the grave.
Medical sources at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in the city of Deir Al-Balah, central Gaza Strip, reported that the airstrike resulted in the deaths of the three people, all of whom were transferred to the hospital.
This comes a day after five Palestinians, including three children, were killed in an Israeli strike on the town of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip.
The Ministry of Health in Gaza said in a statement that hospitals in the Gaza Strip received six bodies and 18 injured people over the past 24 hours, bringing the total since the ceasefire came into effect on October 10 to 972 killed and 2,235 injured.
According to the ministry, the overall death toll since October 7, 2023 has reached 72,568, with 172,338 wounded.
