Israeli Settlers Attack Palestinians Across Occupied West Bank

DaysofPal- The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission has documented 443 attacks carried out by Israeli settlers during the month following the outbreak of hostilities between Israel, the United States, and Iran. This surge indicates an organized escalation that leverages regional tensions to impose new realities on the ground in the West Bank.

The head of the Commission, Minister Moayad Shaaban, reported that these four weeks of violence resulted in the deaths of nine Palestinians due to settler gunfire and physical assaults. Among the victims were brothers Mohammad and Fahim Muammar in Qaryut, Amir Shannaran in Masafer Yatta, and three individuals killed in Khirbet Abu Falah in the Ramallah and al-Bireh governorate. Other fatalities included Aed Arar in Qarawat Bani Zeid and Mohammad Faraj al-Malhi in Bethlehem. Additional deaths were reported in connection with suffocation and stress caused by the attacks.

The incidents involved live gunfire, arson attacks on homes and vehicles, and widespread destruction of civilian property.

Widespread Geographic Distribution

The attacks were reported across multiple areas of the West Bank. Nablus recorded the highest number with 108 incidents, followed by Hebron with 99, Ramallah with 76, Bethlehem with 32, Jerusalem with 24, and Salfit with 23. Other areas, including Jericho and Qalqilya, also saw repeated assaults.

In parallel with the violence, six Bedouin communities were forcibly displaced. The attacks affected 58 families, totaling 256 individuals, including 79 women and 166 children. Many were driven from their homes in the northern Jordan Valley and areas near Nablus following repeated threats and assaults.

The commission documented 123 cases of property destruction and 18 arson attacks targeting homes and land. There were also three reported attacks on religious sites, including attempted mosque burnings and repeated incursions into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, restricting access for Palestinian worshippers.

Efforts to expand settlements have also accelerated. The report identified attempts to establish 14 new outposts. Israeli authorities have also approved infrastructure projects on land in Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, paving the way for a new settlement known as “Ir HaKeren,” which would strengthen territorial links between existing settlements.

Land Seizures and Military Orders

Israeli authorities issued 12 military orders to seize land for security purposes, taking control of 225 dunams across several governorates. These measures are intended for road construction, buffer zones, and military sites. In addition, 27 orders were issued under the designation of “security procedures” to uproot trees across 1,391 dunams, primarily in the Ramallah area.

Shaaban warned that the recent escalation reflects a systematic policy designed to accelerate settlement expansion and reshape the geographic and demographic reality in the West Bank. He called on the international community and human rights organizations to take urgent action to halt violations and ensure protection for Palestinian civilians.
