Hamas Calls for Escalation Following Killing of Palestinian Family in West Bank

DaysofPal – The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, has called for intensified confrontation against Israeli occupation forces in the occupied West Bank following the execution of four members of a single Palestinian family in the town of Tamoun, south of Tubas. Israeli forces opened fire on the family’s vehicle, killing a father, mother, and their two children.

In a press statement on Sunday, Hamas described the incident in Tamoun as a “field execution” and a “new war crime” committed by the Israeli occupation. The movement emphasized that the attack reflects the “criminal nature” of Israeli forces, which deliberately target civilians, including women and children.

Hamas asserted that such actions will not instill fear among Palestinians. On the contrary, they are expected to increase anger and reinforce determination to resist the occupation.

The movement called on Palestinians across the West Bank to escalate confrontations at all points of contact, unify their efforts, and employ all forms of resistance in response to the occupation’s crimes.

The Tamoun incident was part of a broader escalation in the northern West Bank that saw five Palestinians killed over recent hours. In addition to the four members of the Tamoun family, another young Palestinian was killed by Israeli settlers south of Nablus.

Since the start of Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, Israeli forces and settlers have intensified attacks in the West Bank. These assaults include killings, arrests, house demolitions, property destruction, forced displacement, and continued settlement expansion.

Palestinian sources report that these attacks have killed at least 1,125 Palestinians and injured approximately 11,700 others. Around 22,000 Palestinians have been detained since the conflict began.
